Lumphinnans Children’s Gala

The Lumphinnan’s Children’s Gala was held on Saturday.  A company of 800 children assembled in the school playground, under the direction of Mr.T.Morrison. Headmaster, and his staff.  Headed by the Pipe Band they marched to the Game Park where milk and cakes were served.  The children were entertained by Fife’s wonder dog, “Rex,” belonging to Mr.D.Lindsay, Dundonald.

“Rex,” gave a marvellous display of intelligence.  Unfortunately the weather broke down and the races had to be postponed.  They were run off in the school playground on Monday and Tuesday, however, and the Gala Day Committee, with Mr. Adamson as Secretary, had raised the money for fine prizes.  In addition, each child received a new penny.
